ALIA is committed to providing opportunities and removing barriers to attend the ALIA National 2026 conference. For those who would be unable to attend the conference without support, we are providing a range of avenues to help get you to Sydney. We welcome applicants from across Australia who have previously been underrepresented at our conferences.

All applications must be submitted via the online form by 15 February.

For more information about bursaries and volunteers, please email events@alia.org.au.

First Nations Bursaries

ALIA is working towards increasing opportunities and removing barriers for First Nations library and information sector colleagues to participate in our conferences and events and has established a bursary fund for First Nations event attendance.

A portion of every registration in the ALIA Respect and Recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, Cultures and Country in Australian Libraries course contributes to the bursary fund. This foundational course was developed in collaboration between ALIA and the Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).

ALIA is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island colleagues interested in attending the ALIA National 2026 Conference.
